We hiked the Butler Fork to Dog Lake trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon going as far as we could until deep snow forced us to turn around. Not a lot of bird action, but we did see a FOY pair of Steller's Jay and heard a White-winged Crossbill. According to eBird the Crossbill is rare, but I checked all of the probable species and clearly, WW Crossbill was the bird calling.
