Summer Stretch

Vireo at Red Butte

The flower is a Sego Lilly, the Utah state flower. A few juvenile Magpies around, but not nearly as many as last year. I'll look for the Vireos in the Gambel Oak near the creek from now on.

International Migratory Bird Day

Farmington Bay

First visit to Farmington Bay since the snows melted. Found the usual array of birds, except for a lone 1st year juvenile Bald Eagle.

Southern Utah Spring Trip

Heard the reported Painted Bunting near the Sinawava trailhead, but no sighting. Canyon Wrens were singing up a storm, however. No Condors and Kolob Plateau birding was very quiet.
