Kestrel and Jay

Cormorant
Shelly was met by a pair of American Kestrel escaping from a group(five) of Western Scrub-jays as she headed out the door for work. Not sure if the Kestrels were in competition for territorial rights, but it seemed    like the Jays were none to happy about their presence. We usually get a Kestrel hanging out in the cottonwood trees across the street after breeding season has concluded. This is the first time we've had two.
Also, there was a Double-crested Cormorant in the Sugarhouse Park pond. Not unusual during migration.
