Ruffed Grouse

Surprised this individual while hiking on a very quiet Lamb's Canyon trail. She first charged me, then took refuge in thick foliage where she continued a series of "defense" calls until a Steller's Jay interrupted her. Did not see the chicks. I recorded some audio and i'm trying to figure out how to clean it up and post it here.
