Windy

Red-breasted Merganser

Western Meadowlark at Visitor Center

Ravens at Logan landfill
Took in the first couple of miles of the BRMBR and saw very little, mostly due to the extreme windy conditions. We expect much cooler temps and rain/snow tomorrow. Did see a couple of Long-billed Curlew and and our first Swallows of the year. We stopped at the Logan landfill on our way home and witnessed the antics of a very active group of Ravens fighting amongst themselves for scraps they stole from scavenging gulls.  Other FOY birds were Turkey Vulture, Common Merganser, Ring-necked Duck, both Scaup species, Bonapartes Gull and Franklin's Gull. Still no YHBB.

Coot and Cinnamon Teal
A nesting Coot doesn't seem very concerned about the Cinnamon Teal preening next to him. Maybe they ae a pair.
